Generative engine optimization (GEO): built to be cited, not just ranked
Generative Engine Optimization is the work of making your content easy for AI systems — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google’s AI Overviews — to find, understand and cite. It builds on the same technical and content foundations as SEO, structured the way these systems specifically reward. We only ever claim results we can show you, in the form of a real, screenshotted citation.
What usually goes wrong
More people are getting answers from ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews before they ever click through to a website. Nobody has clean, agreed numbers on exactly how much this has grown — most of the figures quoted in the market are guesses dressed up as statistics — but the direction is not seriously in question.
Most sites are structurally invisible to AI systems for reasons that have nothing to do with the quality of what they sell: no direct answer near the top of the page, no clear sourcing, no structured data an AI system can parse.
Several agencies now sell “AI visibility” as a line item with no methodology behind it — a dashboard with a made-up score, or Google rankings quietly relabelled. There is no reliable automated tool that measures this yet, which is exactly why a fake one is so easy to sell.
What you actually get
Concrete deliverables, not adjectives. Everything here is work we do, show you, and report on.
AI-crawlability check
Confirming that ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google-Extended can actually reach your content — robots.txt, JavaScript rendering and access settings checked, not assumed.
Answer-first content structuring
A direct, complete answer placed immediately under each question-style heading — the same structure that gets lifted into featured snippets, now written for AI extraction specifically.
Schema for AI systems
Organization, FAQ, Article and HowTo structured data implemented so an AI system can parse who you are and what you offer, not just so a search engine can.
Sourcing and credibility signals
Visible authorship, credentials, dates and cited sources — AI systems favour content that shows its working, and most sites strip exactly that out in the name of clean design.
AI-answer monitoring
We run your priority queries through ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews by hand, on a schedule, and show you exactly what comes back — screenshots, not a score.
Citation-worthy content
Original data, guides and answers written to be the source an AI system pulls from — the same principle as a linkable asset, aimed at a different reader.
Honest reporting
A monthly record of which of your priority queries you are and are not being cited for, month over month. No invented visibility index.
The process, with real timelines
These are the timelines we actually work to. Early movement in 60–90 days, meaningful growth at four to six months — we would rather say it upfront than have you find out later.
-
Baseline check
We run your priority queries through ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews by hand and screenshot exactly what comes back today, before any work starts.
Week 1 -
AI-crawlability and structure audit
The technical foundation checked — access, rendering and existing structured data — alongside our technical SEO work where the two overlap.
Weeks 1–2 -
Content restructured for extraction
Priority pages rewritten answer-first, with sourcing and schema added, starting with the pages closest to being cited already.
Weeks 2–8 -
Monitoring cadence begins
The same queries rechecked by hand on a set schedule, so change is measured against the baseline rather than a guess.
Month 2 onward -
Report honestly
What changed, shown as real citations. If nothing has changed yet, we say that plainly rather than inventing a metric that moved.

Who this is for
- Businesses whose buyers are starting to ask ChatGPT or Perplexity before they Google anything
- Brands with genuinely strong content that AI systems still are not citing
- Finance, legal and healthcare businesses, where being cited as a source is a real trust signal, once the technical and on-page foundations are solid
- Anyone who wants to be ready before this matters more, without paying for something unproven
When we’d tell you not to bother
If your site has thin content or weak technical foundations, GEO has nothing to build on — AI systems cite sites that already answer questions well, they do not invent authority for you. We would put you on on-page and technical SEO first. This is also early and evolving: if you want a guaranteed method with proven return-on-investment numbers, nobody selling GEO honestly has that yet, including us.
Frequently asked questions
What is Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)?
It is the work of structuring your site so AI systems — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google’s AI Overviews — can find, understand and cite it. It uses the same technical and content foundations as SEO, applied with AI extraction specifically in mind.
How is GEO different from AEO?
Answer Engine Optimization and Generative Engine Optimization are largely used to mean the same thing by different people right now — both describe optimising for AI-generated answers rather than a list of blue links. We use GEO because it is the term more people search for in India.
Can you guarantee my brand will be cited by ChatGPT?
No, and you should be wary of anyone who says yes. Nobody controls what an AI system decides to cite, in the same way nobody controls Google’s results — arguably less so, since the mechanics are newer and less understood even by the platforms themselves.
How do you measure GEO results?
By hand. We run your actual priority queries through ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews on a set schedule and show you the real answers, with screenshots. There is no reliable automated tool for this yet — anyone showing you a dashboard with an “AI visibility score” has built a proxy metric, not a measurement.
Do I need GEO if I am already doing SEO?
Only once your SEO foundations are solid. GEO builds directly on top of on-page and technical SEO — a site with thin content or a broken structure has nothing for an AI system to cite, no matter how the page is formatted.
Is this just SEO with a new name?
No, though the overlap is real and worth being honest about. The technical and content groundwork is largely shared. What is specific to GEO is structuring for extraction rather than ranking, the sourcing signals AI systems weigh differently, and monitoring actual AI answers rather than search positions.
