Who they are
Joannah Fancy Costumes rents and sells costumes from Kammanahalli in Bengaluru — Independence Day outfits, dance costumes, graduation gowns, biblical and church costumes, and annual day wear for children and adults.
A large share of the business is institutional: bulk orders from schools, colleges, churches and dance academies preparing for a specific event on a specific date.
What we were doing
Local SEO, social media advertising and Google Ads for a business where almost every customer is nearby, in a hurry, and searching on a phone.
Google Business Profile as the front door
For a costume shop, the Business Profile does more work than the website. Category, photographs, hours and reviews decide whether you appear when someone searches "costume shop near me" three days before an annual day.
Built around the calendar
Demand here is not steady — it spikes around Independence Day, Christmas, school annual days and graduation season. Local SEO, social and ads all needed to be in place before each spike, not during it.
Google Ads for the gap organic cannot close in time
Local SEO takes months to build; a costume spike is sometimes weeks away. Google Ads covered the searches happening right now, timed to each seasonal window rather than left running flat all year.
Two audiences, one business
A parent hiring one costume and a school hiring forty behave completely differently. Institutional enquiries needed a route that did not make them work through a retail funnel.
Services on this project
- Local SEO — You can be page-one on Google and still invisible in the map pack that gets the calls.
- Social Media Ads — Reach is a diagnostic, not a result. We optimise for cost per enquiry.
- Google Ads — Management fee separate from ad spend. You own the account. Always.
- E-commerce & Retail — how we approach this sector
We publish no performance figures we cannot evidence and have not been given permission to share — see why that is.
